Las Positas College invites the community to attend Open House event

Las Positas College (LPC) is excited to announce an Open House on November 15 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on campus, inviting prospective students, their families, veterans, adult learners and community members to learn more about the college and its programs. The event will feature a variety of activities designed to give attendees a comprehensive look at what LPC has to offer.
 
“Las Positas College’s Open House offers prospective students and their families a meaningful introduction to the college’s academic excellence, student support services, and inclusive community,” said Vice President of Student Services Dr. Jeanne Wilson. "We want every guest to leave with a clear sense of the opportunities and support available to help them reach their educational goals.”
 
Informational sessions will provide an overview of the college's academic offerings, available financial aid programs, the LPC Honors Transfer Program, and many other student services and support programs available. Campus tours and program spotlights will allow attendees to see the college's modern classrooms, labs and other facilities, including LPC’s Performing Arts Center, Horticulture Center, Public Safety Complex and Advanced Manufacturing & Transportation Building, and the new Viticulture Winery Technology Center.
 
In addition to the informational sessions, the Open House event will feature demonstrations, live music, promotional giveaways and food trucks, making it a fun and enjoyable experience for all ages. This event will allow middle and high school students and their families to learn about the many learning opportunities available at LPC, including concurrent enrollment and guaranteed transfer to several University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) programs.
 
“I am excited for Las Positas College to once again welcome the community to our Open House on November 15,” said LPC President Dr. Dyrell Foster. “Last year’s event was a tremendous success, drawing hundreds of guests to our campus. As one of the top-ranked community colleges in California and the nation, this is a wonderful opportunity to showcase what makes Las Positas an exceptional place to learn, grow, and belong.”
 
The Open House event schedule includes the following:
●    10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Academic and Resource Fair.
●    10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Information sessions and program spotlights.
●    10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Campus tours.
