The Las Positas College (LPC) Music Department is proud to announce a first place win for talented composition student Sydney Roberts at the annual Music Association of California Community Colleges Conference held earlier this month. Roberts will be presented with a $200 scholarship in recognition of her talents.
Roberts took home first place for her original piece for 3 marimbas entitled Thief, inspired during class while listening to various marimba pieces, particularly Steve Reich's Nagoya Marimbas.
