In the summer of 2023 an American Flag retirement drop box was installed at the Dublin Camp Parks Military Center. The Military Center is located outside and to the left of the Camp Parks main gate on Dougherty Road.
U.S. flags no longer fit for display, for reasons such as tearing, fraying or fading can be placed in the box during the Center's visiting hours, daily from 11:00 AM till 5:00 PM.
As a joint venture with Dublin/Pleasanton American Legion Post 237 the box was built and installed by the city. Post 237 is responsible for the removal of the retired flags and to make sure they given to organizations that conduct the proper and ceremonial burning of our national emblem as outlined in the U.S. Code.
