Las Positas College and Alameda County Behavioral Health to Host Inaugural ACE Summit Focused on Youth Empowerment and Mental Wellness

Las Positas College, in proud partnership with the Alameda County Behavioral Health Department, is excited to announce the launch of the inaugural ACE Summit (Aspire, Community, Empower)—a groundbreaking youth and parent empowerment event designed to foster mental wellness, educational exploration, and community connection.

This first-of-its-kind event will bring together high school and community college students, parents, and caregivers from across Alameda County for a day of dialogue, inspiration, and healing-centered engagement.

The event will feature group sessions organized by shared experiences—young men, young women, LGBTQ+ youth, and parents/caregivers—creating affirming spaces for open conversation and tailored mental health support. Through this approach, organizers aim to reduce stigma and promote community-driven solutions rooted in empathy, cultural understanding, and empowerment.

“The ACE Summit reflects our deep commitment to equity, wellness, and student success,” said Dr. Dyrell Foster, President of Las Positas College. “We are proud to open our campus as a place where youth and families from all backgrounds feel seen, supported, and inspired to pursue their educational and life goals. This event speaks to the power of community in nurturing both mental health and opportunity.”
