In celebration of Drivers For Survivors 8th year of operation, Drivers For Survivors is hosting Black and White Ball, our annual signature FUNdraiser. Proceeds from this event will help us benefit Cancer Patients!
Drivers For Survivors provides free transportation service and supportive companionship for ambulatory cancer patients, from suspicious findings through completion of treatments.
This service is provided for ambulatory cancer patients living in Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Castro Valley, Ashland, Cherryland, Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton going to all cancer-related medical appointments within a 60-mile radius of ZIP code 94538, freeing them to focus on their health and essential treatment.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Laura Esserman, MD, MBA, Director of the Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center, University of California San Francisco
Dr. Laura Esserman is Professor of Surgery and Radiology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and director of the UCSF Breast Care Clinic. Her work in breast cancer spans the spectrum from basic science to public policy issues, and the impact of both on the delivery of clinical care. Dr. Esserman is recognized as a thought leader in cancer screening and overdiagnosis, as well as innovative clinical trial design. She led the creation of the University of California-wide Athena Breast Health Network, a learning system designed to integrate clinical care and research as it follows 150,000 women from screening through treatment and outcomes. The Athena Network launched the PCORI-funded Wisdom Study, which tests a personalized approach to breast cancer screening in 100,000 women. She is also a leader of the innovative I-SPY TRIAL model, designed to accelerate the identification and approval of effective new agents for women with high risk breast cancers.

Marcie Dodd is an American stage performer, known for starring as Elphaba in the Broadway, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and both national tour productions of Wicked.
Carol Weiss is an accomplished musical director, teacher, pianist and composer. She was music director for the ABC TV series General Hospital, vocal director for the Gershwin Trust's "Lady Be Good" cast album and a musical director at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, the Sacramento Music Circus, The Los Angeles Civic Light Opera, South Bay CLO, Santa Monica CLO and many other theatres in Los Angeles.
Fay DeWitt is a venerable character actress in TV and films, Fay is known for her many guest appearances on TV shows (primarily sitcoms) dating back to the 1950s, as well as her numerous film appearances that also date back nearly as far (the 1960s), which, most recently, includes work in the movies Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015), Red Dead Redemption (2010) and Circle (2015).
